Sunday I spoke to the people one hour & 15 Minutes in the
forenoone Sunday school met in the Afternoon in the
Evening we again met & C. W. Penrose spoke one hour
& I followed him 60 M[iles]

30. I took carse & rode to Mendon & there met with Brower Pettit & went with him down Logan river
some 5 Miles & camped in the willows for the night 36 M
~ Tuesday
Dec 1, 1874 we concluded to try to kill some wild geese to day
we found the place whare the geese stayed nights & throgh
the day when they were not feeding it was whare the water
was 6 inches deep I got into the flags & made a bed to
kneel on & waited the arival of the geese we shot sev[er]al
on the wing which we set out as stools soon a flock of
about 20 came down & lit we both shot at them at the
same time & killed about one half of the flock we got 10.
we killed 22 geese & some 8 ducks

2nd We travelled several miles towards Mendon Broth Pettit
shot 2 geese & several Ducks
~ Thursday
3 It comm[enc]ed to snow this morning & we travelled to Mendon
on the way Brother Pettit shot a goose through the head
which made 25 shot while we were out we went to Mendon
I there took cars & rode to Ogden & on to Salt Lake City 100 [miles]
5. I went to the farm & drew up a load of straw 6 [miles]

6. Sunday I met with my Quorum at noon & with the
12 in the Evening I preached in the Evening at the 2nd ward
~ Monday
7. I received 3 letters to day one from Brother Hill & Bailyss containing $300 for tithing which I delivered to Horace Whittney
