Growing Closer to the Spirit through Wilford Woodruff’s Record
by Maddie Christensen
Say hello to Bailee Shaw, a new volunteer for the Wilford Woodruff Papers Foundation. Bailee will be joining the Public Relations Team, helping to write children’s short stories about Wilford Woodruff.
Bailee is currently attending school at Brigham Young University–Idaho, where she is studying communication with an emphasis in news and journalism. Previously she was responsible for the religion beat at the BYU–I student newsletter, Scroll. She also served as an English/Portuguese site missionary for nine months in Nauvoo, Illinois.
Bailee was introduced to the Wilford Woodruff Papers Project through a former intern. She has loved Church history since serving her mission in Nauvoo, and felt that this Project was the perfect fit for her.
During her time as a volunteer, Bailee hopes to inspire young people to get to know the individuals who played a role in nineteenth-century Church history, and to grow closer to the Spirit through Wilford Woodruff’s records. She is looking forward to sharing his inspirational words so that everyone can be positively affected by his testimony and example.
