“I have developed an appreciation for not only being ‘faithful’ and having a testimony, but also for simply doing the work despite how difficult the challenges may be,” says Craig Lindquist, volunteer for the Wilford Woodruff Papers Foundation. “By just about any measure, Wilford had a hard life, but the hard parts did not turn him from the spiritual parts.”

“It has been a blessing to me to be a very small part of such a great work,” shares Donna Turlington, one of the amazing volunteers for the Wilford Woodruff Papers Foundation. 

Donna first heard about the Project after following the Joseph Smith Papers on BYUtv. She heard Steven Harper, Executive Editor, discussing the Wilford Woodruff Papers’ importance to Church history. Donna visited wilfordwoodruffpapers.org, signed up for the newsletter, and became involved after receiving an email about the need for volunteers.

“The process of volunteering with the Wilford Woodruff Papers Foundation was a timely and heaven-sent blessing,” shares Michelle Hall. “I’ve been able to find family members and make connections on my husband’s side because of the valiant recordkeeping of Wilford Woodruff. He had connections to many of God’s children, and being a part of researching those individuals he mentions throughout his papers is extensive and exciting!”

“One of my favorite things about working on the Project is finding my ancestors’ names mentioned,” shares Rose Bowen, a volunteer for the Wilford Woodruff Papers Foundation. “I love to see how they were involved in building up the Church in their own ways. Just as President Woodruff had a calling to fulfill, we each have callings and opportunities to build up the Church and make the world a better place.”
