Day in the Life

Transcript

Did you know that Fast Sunday used to be on the first Thursday of the month? On November 5, 1896 Wilford Woodruff wrote this in his journal,

“I went to the temple and we did a good deal of business. Among the rest, we voted to change our fast day from the first Thursday in the month to the first Sunday.”

In the April 2001 General Conference, Elder Joseph B Wirthlin talked about the importance of fasting. He said, “Fasting in the proper spirit and in the Lord’s way will energize us spiritually, strengthen our self-discipline, fill our homes with peace, lighten our hearts with joy, fortify us against temptation, prepare us for times of adversity, and open the windows of heaven.”

Even though fasting can be hard sometimes, it can be such a great blessing in our life.  How has fasting been a blessing to you?
