James Foss Townsend
James Townsend (1808-1886) was born 20 Feb. 1808 in Buxton, York Co., Maine. He was the son of Jacob Townsend and Abigail Elden. He married Susan Davis on 11 Apr. 1828 in Buxton. He was baptized in Aug. 1833. He preached with Wilford Woodruff in 1838 in Bangor, Penobscot Co., Maine. He died 2 Apr. 1886 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory.
