James Thacher

14 Feb 1754 - 26 May 1844

James Thacher, a Revolutionary War doctor who recorded the first prayer offered in the United States Congress in Dec. 1777, was referenced by Wilford Woodruff on 6 Feb. 1879 when he copied the prayer into his journal.
