Reed Smoot (1862-1941) was born 10 Jan. 1862 in Great Salt Lake City, Great Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory. He was the son of Abraham Owen Smoot and Anna Kirstine Mouritsen. He married Alpha May Eldredge on 17 Sep. 1884 in Logan, Cache Co., Utah Territory; widowed 6 Nov. 1928. He married Alice Taylor Sheets on 2 Jul. 1930 in Salt Lake City. He was baptized 10 Jan. 1870 in Salt Lake City. He met with Wilford Woodruff in the 1890s on the affairs of Brigham Young Academy. He died 9 Feb. 1941 in St. Petersburg, Pinellas Co., Florida.
