Samuel Brannan

Samuel Brannan (1819-1889) was born 2 Mar. 1819 in Saco, York Co., Maine. He was the son of Thomas Brannan and Sarah Emery. He married Harriet Hatch in 1841 in Ohio; participated in plural marriage. He was baptized in 1833. He was the presiding elder in New York City in 1844 while Wilford Woodruff was a missionary there, and he served on the Council of Fifty with Wilford Woodruff in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois. He died 5 May 1889 in Escondido, San Diego Co., California.
