Daybook (13 January 1835 - 26 November 1836)
Counseled together and concluded to go down to the mouth of
the Arkansaw river and cross the Mississippi River After concluding
to go by water we left Brother Hubbel accompanied by Brother W
Akeman for the purpose of making a canoe to go down the
River in as we could not go by land without great difficulty on account
of swamp and water. We crossed the Arkansaw river—spent the night
with Mr John Morse distance 23 miles
