Autobiography Volume 1 circa 1842-1865
Mr Hardamand was living in great splender, while taking Breakfast with him with his table surrounded with Gentlemen and ladies and he was an Episcopalian and believed much in music and danceing. He asked me if we believed in music and danceing I told him we did not consider it an ordinanance really essential to salvation He said he did so he should not Join our Church. I walked 24 miles and spent the night with Jacob Sipes and preached at his house in Madison County
