August 29, 1845 ~ Friday
29th
I recieved 2 letters & wrote 2. I went
to the Clarence Dock in the evening to meet Br
[blank] Armstrong but he did nont come. I
recieved two pair of praisors from Br Thompson
of Sheffield one pair was from Henry Thompson
bearing the following inscription W. Woodruff [FIGURE]
& the other Pair was from Thomas Hardy bearing
the following inscription W. Woodruff [FIGURE]
they were both an excellent article [FIGURE]
I wrote one letter to Br Dwight Webster
