Discourse 1851-01-12
W. Woodruff. I av always looked upon the 70 as the main pillars of a great building—the Presidency & Quo of the 12 av led the way to the nations—it is the 870 that av got to preach to them. Those who av not been on missions, do not realize what your privileges now are—when you get among the nations you will look back to these times. 8) for mercies sake dont be uneasy at having to stay here, for this is the very place to rece[ive] instruction—treasure up wisdom & counsel when you can—keep a journal of your travels & put down items of doctrines, they will be refreshing to you—dont be afraid to write what is important to you—you & the apostles to the Gentiles truly, at no period of my life have I been so happy as since being in this valley. we av reason to be humble & thankful for all the mercies of God—righteousness reigns here—&c.
