Your letter of April 1st. and
May 1st. (the postmark at your city) we just recd
In the one dated April 18th. I recd. a draft
in Washington for $450.00. Ezra recd. a letter from
you by the last Mail stating that you had forwarded
$1000 by Mr. Stewart, but the letter containing a
duplicate draft to the one I recd has not yet got
along. We will forward Draft to Washington as
directed. the amount sent last fall by Brother
Pratt was promptly forwarded and an other amount
of 29$. The amount sent by Mr. Horner has
not yet been recd. [and] have we heard any thing
from him direct. A friend of mine at St. Louis
made some enquiries for him of Mr Livingston
who informed him that Mr H. was at Weston
and that he thought of returning to Salt Lake
with Mr. Livingstons train. I wrote Mr H. care
of Middleton & Riley, St Josephs and got no
answer. a few days since I wrote M & Riley
at the same place making enquires about him
and hope to hear from them soon I shall at
once with yout agent out St. Louis, (you gave me
his name in your last) making enquiries of the
matter I hope all is well but it is certainly
very strange that he does not write us.
