April 13 1861 Dear Brother Woodruff I mail to day a letter to Pres. Young, under cover to br. Clawson. It is in accordance with my design, when I set out, to limit my correspondence with the city to br. Young; and indeed my oppor- tunities will not permit me to extend it; — therefore, dear brother, I do not sit down to write you a letter; — not doubting but that you will be informed of the contents of the one addressed to the office; but to enclose a newspaper slip, which came to my hand after mailing the above letter.
