Letter to Brigham Young, 20 August 1877
St George, . To President Brigham Young, Salt Lake City. Dear Brother, As October Conference is approaching we desire to ask if you approve of our leaving here, say about the middle of next month, for Salt Lake City to attend Conference and briefly visit our famlies and friends? The Temple needs a thorough clean- ing of floors, and of some of the painted work; carpets need to be taken up, beaten and replaced; screens need to be washed and, after some nine months use, a little general renovation, will be timely. If you approve of our going to Salt Lake City, shall we adjourn Temple Ceremonial work for, say, six weeks, and have this work attended to? After we have the floors cleaned
