October 21, 1879 ~ Tuesday

21 we started without Breakfast and drove 10 Miles
mostly up hill over a dry broaken sandy country the sand
Deep the hardest kind of waggoning and it nearly tiered
our horses out. We took breakfast without water for animals
fed grain we drove 10 miles & found water and camped. 20 M[iles]
I shot a Rabbit for supper we travelled without road all
day

sandy country, the sand Deep & the hardest kind of waggoning and it neerly tired our Horses out we drove 10 Miles & camped for Breakfast in the woods took breakfast Had no water for our Animals fed grain then drove on up the wash 10 Miles & found water & camped for the night 20 Miles I shot a rabbit for supper our road was vary hard all day we had No waggon road.
