May 15, 1880 ~ Saturday

15 We Met for a quarterly conference W Woodruff spoke 4 M[inutes].
Br Mabyan read the Temple report receipts from all sources
to April 1, 1880 $177,766.38 B Young spoke 43 M[inutes] E Snow 50.
Afternoon Cyrus Wheelock Prayed. The statistical report
of the stake was read 10512 souls was reported. G Teasdale spoke 10
W Woodruff 50 M[inutes]. A vote was taken that we would not
sustain any store of any kind as a Church institution who would
not Pay thereir tithing

Prest W Woodruff said if the Saints paid their tithing punctually there would be no need to call for means to build temples as there would be an abundance for that purpose. The word of Wisdom is not obeyed as generally as it ought to be. Co Operation is a principle taught the saints as it is for their blessing. These small towns should not have more than one Co-Op Store. Don't pull apart and put up other stores. He alluded to the scarcity of water and how easily difficulties would arise among the brethren. Warned the saints against going to law
