Sept 29, 1883
I took cars this morning with Presidents Taylor & Cannon
& rode to Provo and attended a Board Meeting of Provo
Factory. I found Sister Smoot much Better Emma
stoped with her through the day I attended a priesthood
Meeting in the Afternoon and spent the night with Br Smoot 50 miles
A O Smoot Harvey Cluff, Isaac Bullock And David
Holdaway
set apart 25 Home Missionaries G Q Cannon
spoke 30 M[inutes], W. Woodruff 20 He said there would be
a Dividing Line in this Church and that line would
be Between those who could Preach the whole Law of
God
including the word of wisdom and practice what
they Preach & those who could not

Prest W Woodruff then addressed the audience expressing himself in strong terms "that the time had come when the Elders of Israel must pratice what they teach in order to effect upon the minds of the people"—especially should it be or in regard to the Word of Wisdom: concluding with "I view you Brethren holding the priesthood as chosen before the world was, to work here upon the Earth to support his cause.
