February 09, 1886 ~ Tuesday

(Feb 9 I arose this morning rejoicing in the victoy & deliver[ance]
we received yesterday) The whole force of all the Marshals
yesterday in searching the Gardo House The Presidents
Office
the Behive & Lion House The Tithing Offices
& Historian Office not a Man, woman, child was
fo[u]nd or a paper served on any one And thank the
God of Heaven for all this.) I spent the day writing in
in my Journal & rejoicing in the Lord

A hand pointing to the right I wrote to President Taylor and gave him an aco[un]t
of our victory yesterday {Emma stopped with me [Wed] night}

Salt Lake City, Utah, Camp Rejoicing Presidents John Taylor & George Q Cannon Dear Brethren I dont know but you might as well spend 10 munits in reading a page or two from my journal as any other way, of the History of Feb 8, 1886 And as I have no clerk I trust to Brother Cannon to translate my Hieroglyphics as I have the name of writing so no ^no^ Man can Read it, yet I would like Brother Cannon to Exercise his gift upon it Extract of W Woodruff Journal. The History of this day is one of the most important Events of my Life, and is worth a place in the Records of the history of the Church. I was Requested to meet with Twelve in the Even- ing of this day on some Church business in Part Auditing I left my place of abode at 5 oclok AM, and on a pair of running gears of a waggon Asahel drove me up to the Historians Office I arived at 6 oclok and not having keys to get in I sat out of doors
