I am suffering much with cold on my Lungs I had an
Interview with Brother Cannon & J. F. Smith in the Evening
Br Joseph was vary lame with his broaken Ancle

Salt Lake City, Utah, Nov 12, 1887 My Dear Leslie I arived at the farm last night after 4 days Duck Hunting at the the mouth of the provo River & I got your Letter of Nov 4 which I Received with much interest Emma Wilkins & Batement Bateman went with me Em stoped with Clara at Provo they came Down on Thursday to see me Clara is Preg she was taken sick on her arival we took her home at dark it seemed as though she would die before we got her home I was afraid of a miscarriage. she was vary sick they sent for Dr. Pike He gave her Laudlum she was poorly when we left but is much better to day By Telephone

Hooperville Elder Wilford Woodruff Dear Sir It was with feelings of pain and sorrow that I heard the Epistle of the Twelve Apostles read at the last Conference in Salt Lake City. You can certainly understand from my letters the reason why this was so. It is with fear and trembling that I see men trying to establish an order in this church which is not according to the order revealed through the great Prophet Joseph Smith, the man appointed of the Lord to receive His word and to write it down that the church might have a law and pattern whereby they might come unto it and be sanctified and saved. There is a commandment of the Lord in the Book of Doctrine and Covenants which says to the Elders that when they are together they should instruct and edify each other, that they might know how to act and

I. T. Pre's Wilford Woodruff Dear Bro. As you are no doubt aware our Conference convenes on Saturday and Sunday the 26 and 27th inst. and would certainly be very pleased to be favored with a visit from some of the Twelve or any one you would wish to have come. If you conclude to send any one, kindly let us know a day or two before at least so that we can have a conveyance to meet him at the Station. T E Ricks
