Sir having heard from
a man living in Bedford
the name of Flranktin living
in Argile St Bedford—reported
that my Father Henry Smith
who I am led to suppose died
at the S L C about year & half ago
& left me his only child the sum
of 4000 I write to ask you if
there is any truth in it if he
left anything at all whereby if he has
God know I stand in egreat need
