Letter from James Zebulon Stewart, 22 July 1888
Logan City, Utah Prest. W. Woodruff. Salt Lake City. Dear Bro. Since writing you yesterday we learn that a rumor was circulated some weeks since to the effect that our Stake Board of Education was arranging to open a Stake Academy in the Basement of our Tabernacle and were going to place me in charge of it. This is news to us, and it is false in every particular, no such thing having ever been thought of by any member of the Board; in fact we were not appointed until July 17th long after, as we now learn, the matter was brought to your attention. I felt it my duty to drop you a line re- garding the matter, that no injustice may be done us on account of that report. Very respectfully yours J. Z. Stewart, Chairman.
