Prest. Wilford Woodruff Dear Brother: I take pleasure in once more reporting the conditions of affairs in the Indian Territory mission. There has been thirteen baptisms this season, and a propo[r]ti[o]nate number of children blessed. The Elders have labored well up to the hot season, when acording to council they have taken it somewhat easier, Elder James F. Smith now in charge has been down with the chills and fever for over three weeks. It seems to be the ordeal they all have to pass through, so we cannot think of giving up. He may linger for some time but not seriously until cool weather, possibly when he will be all right and able to do a good labor this fall and winter, which is the best time to labor in that clime.
