4 I spent most of the day at work in the garden Owen
An arrow came near being killed to day He was riding a strange
Horse He run into a Buggy and fell throwing Owen
many feet over his head and broake Every spoke out
of the off hind wheel it did not hurt the Horse but it hurt Owen

Letter from Board of Directors of the Grantsville Educational Association, 4 August 1888
Grantsville, Hon. W. Woodruff, Prest. Educational Board, Dear Brother: In the spring of 1887, the Citizens of this place seriously considered the fact that we lacked school accom- modation for all of our children of school age; and decided to erect a building 45x70 ft., with Basement, Ground Floor, and Upper Story; and such a building as would not only furnish the room required, but would be a credit to the Town and people. The design of its projectors was to build it by donation, to use it as a Church In- stitution of Learning, and not subject to the control of Officers elected under Territorial law. A Contract was let to Geo. Curley, of S. L. City, to complete the building, putting in an apparatus to heat it by steam, for $14,000.00. Land was pur- chased on which to erect it. The Basement was erected, and about 110,000 Adobies made and put on the ground in 1887. The Masons are now building the walls, and it is designed to roof it and secure it this season, and complete it next year. It was originally designed to complete it this year, but the fol- lowing circumstances appear to form an al- most insurmountable obstacle:
