11 We finished our second crop of Lucern today
Azmon is now living at Emmas House and
doing as well as He can But He is naturly an
unhappy Man He is one of that kind of Men
that must Mourn about sumthing or they cannot
be hapy

Mexico, . Pres't. Wilford Woodruff, Dear Bro., Your very kind and encouraging letter of June 22nd came duly to hand. Since then we have continued in our efforts to spread the gospel. I had 4000 small pamphlets printed, setting forth some of our leading doctrines and re- ferring the people for particulars to our head-quarters. The brethren from Utah distributed those pamphlets in the streets and we hoped that a fair percentage would call upon us for further light. Until now 10 persons called, but only one of the ten seems to mani- fest moderate interest. Six out of the ten are students and came more or less with the intention of arguing, more than to seek for truth. However we are pleased to see anybody show a little life, as the people as a rule say "yes" to everything that we tell them. I had two letters from Apostle M. Thatcher a week ago, in which he expresses a wish that I should be released from this mission and operate in the colony of Juarez. By this time he has probably conferred with you about it.
