Wilford Woodruff Salt Lake City Dear Bro Agreeable to your instruc- tions, at our last Quarterly Conference held the 8th and 9th of Sep., the presidency and High Council of the Stake agreed that Bro. Gilbert D. Greer, (formerly missionary to the Indians in the Southern part of the Territory) was a suitable brother to be made Bishop of the Heber Ward. Bp. William E. Swapp having resigned at the pre- vious Conference. Apostle John Henry Smith and the brethren who accompanied him, also felt that he was a suitable man. The Conference sustained him to be ordained a Bp.
