Letter from George Teasdale, 18 January 1890
President Wilford Woodruff, and Council. Beloved Brethren: Enclosed please find a copy of a letter I have received fom President Fjeldsted, which, with the copy of a letter from President J. U. Stucki, which I forwarded you a few days ago will give you a good idea of the work in Scandin- avia & the Swiss & German missions, as also their wants in those missions. The letters were copied by Elder Walter Hoge whom I find very able help. So soon as we got down to our every day busi- ness after the closing up of last years business, I have concluded to let Brother L. R. Thomas spend the remainder of his mission in travelling and preaching the gospel. He arrived in Liverpool Nov. 4, 1887. Spent a portion of the time travelling in Wales and was then removed to the Manchester Conferences and labored about six months, and then he was called to assist in the emigration in this Office. We intended to release him from the office when the emigration season was through but Bro McAllisters sudden departure prevented us doing so. He was only in his 17th year when he arrived here and is now nearly in his 20th. He is an excellent young man, has a strong testimony
