Provo City, President Wilford Woodruff. Dear Brother, In conformity with the resolution of the General Board, that it should be my duty to visit the church schools as much as occasion should require, and in compliance with your special instructions, I made papositive appoint- ments for the Stake Academies at Heber, Coalville, and Morgan, intending to make the time of my further appoint- ments ahead depending upon the amount of work that should require my attention at the aforesaid places. Wasatch Stake Academy. I arrived at Heber City, Saturday Oct. 26. in the evening and was cordially welcomed by the Principal Enoch Jor- gensen, spending the evening with him in getting posted in regard to the condition and prospects for the new es- tablished Stake Academy. Sunday attended service at the Stake Tabernacle, at which Pres. Hatch requested me to give the people a Gospel Sermon as I should have a chance to talk on Education in the evening. I, therefore, gave them a "Gospel Sermon" merely on another subject. I had, however, the opportunity to converse during the whole afternoon private- ly with President Hatch at his residence, during which

Rexburg, Bingham Co, Idaho, President Wilford Woodruff Salt Lake City Dear Brother, I am in receipt of your favor of 26th inst. and will say that the matter has been carried out in acordance with your ideas. Only the Clerk got a mis-understanding of our arrangements at Conference and reported to the News that Bishop Steele had been sustained as my Second Counsellor whereas he was only placed as "Acting" waiting your approval. However, I wrote the News asking them to make the necessary correction. My reasons for acting in the matter more hasty than is usual in such cases were, that Brother Rigby being absent and likely to be, and the possibility of me being required to go off too there would been no one left to preside. Bishop Jas. E. Steele of Iona is a young man 34 or 35 years of age. He is very energetic
