Letter from R. N. Vance, 29 March 1890
Connellsville Wilford Woodruff, First President of the ^Mormon Chu[rch]^ My Dear Sir I trust you will not feel Indignant at me for addressing you, on this occasion. It is to ask a favour of you. In Looking the statistics of the different churches & sects, I came across the History Tenets & organization of your Church prepared for the World Almanac by your self. Letter from George Teasdale, 29 March 1890
President Wilford Woodruff, Salt Lake City, U.T. Dear Brother: Today the fol- lowing Elders left Liverpool pr S. S. Wyoming, Chas. H. Criddle, John Edwin Longhurst James H. Hall and George Birchell. The first three are missionaries returning through sickness, the last named from visiting his relatives and friends. I learn from Prest J Leaing of London, that Bro. L. R. Thomas is down sick. We have sent for him to come to this office. I enclose a letter I have received from Bro Leaing, for to give you an idea of the state of affairs in his field of labor. We are having an anx- ious time. Elder Yeates has concluded to re- turn home. We will require seven more Elders for the English mission. A brother Hill from Chel- tenham to Nephi accompanied the brethren. As I have not heard who to apply to at New York I can do nothing but send them through the Guion service and get Mr Gibson to do the best he can for us. With this company I have sent a copy of the new hymn book to Presidents Cannon & Smith and the Twelve. With love I remain Your brother in tribulation George Teasdale.
