Gentlemen, Will you be good enough to inform me on what authority you preach the fact of Christ's having several or any wives. I enclose 10 cents in stamps for any leaflet or small publication you may have on the subject. If you could send me a list of your tracts I think I should like a number of them. Letter from Thomas Edwin Ricks, James Henry Hart, and Joseph Coulson Rich, 6 June 1890
Blackfoot, Idaho, Prest. Woodruff and [Prest.] J. F. Smith, Dear Brethren, We inform you that the U. S. Grand Jury were discharged to- day after being in continuous session since the 19th of last month. They reported finding one hundred and fifty-three indictments, a few for unlawfully cutting timber, and selling whiskey to Indians, but the bulk directed against the Latter Day Saints for U. C., Adultery, illegal voting and fraudulent registration at the 1888 Election. But two of the brethren are arrested as yet on the two latter charges—Young Mason of Egin for illegal voting and Bp. West of Paris for fraudulent registration, and both cases have been continued for the term. Whether they intend making these test cases, or whether they will continue their arrests we know not. Bp. West was subpeoned here as a witness before the U. S. Grand jury, who

Blackfoot, Idaho, Prest Woodruff and Smith Brother Jos C. Rich was mistaken about Brother Ricks being released he has to stay here as witness on Thos. Hilliards case, and has not been released as a witness for the Grand jury. J. C. Rich is doing well as sober as a judge and we feel like giving him all the encouragement possible.
