9. Keys crossed A crown For the first time for 8 days I left my house
& rode to the Depo & in company with G. Q. Cannon
and Henry M. Stanley the Affrican Explorer & a small
company of our people I had a plesant time with Mr
Standley He conversed freely upon his African
Explorations we went to the Lake & Back visited the
Heard of Buffaloo In the Evening I Attended the Lecture
of Stanley the most interesting Lecture I Ever attended
we returned home in the Storm I wrote 1 Letter to Sarah

March 9th 1891 Presidents Woodruff, Cannon & Smith; Dear Brethren; There have been two baptisms recently in New York City, a very nice intelligent gentleman and his wife having joined the Church here who will I believe do credit to the Cause. There ^are^ prospects of others joining, who are already investigating with much sa- tisfaction. There ^are^ several of our people here and at Brooklyn, who are very anxious that a branch should be organized in this place, and in a conversation with Brother John W.
