July 13, 1891 ~ Monday

13. I went to the Gardo I signed 21 Recomends I
received 14 Letters. The Jews Dedicated their
Temple yesterday the 12 I met with the council in
the office I Met last Evening with Judge Este & Col
Trumbow & F M Lyman at Br G Q Cannons


A hand pointing to the right I met this Morning with Cyrus Edwin Dallin
the great Modelist of Utah I met with our council
including Este. The Election for school Trustees
The Liberals got 3 out of 5 the peoples Party did
not turn out to vote

Woodruff Dear brother: In visiting the wards in the western part of the Box Elder Stake this year, we found that a change in the Bishopric of the Park Valley Ward would be for the best interests of the ward. Bro. Erastus D. Mecham, the present bishop is a very good and faithful man, but owing to the hardships endured by him in the mormon Battalion, he is now at the age of 65 in a feeble state of health, and is consequently not in a condition to discharge the duties devolving upon him to the best advantage. Nephi City, Utah, President Wilford Woodruff, Salt Lake City. Beloved Brother: Next Saturday and Sunday, the 18th and 19th inst, is the time sat for our quartly conference, of this the Juab Stake of Zion. And we most earnestly desire to be blest with the presence of some of the leaders of Isreal, as you may see fit to direct, feeling as we do, that, we need blessings in this direction. Some of the saints have expressed them- selves, that they would be pleased to have the new Apostles visit us, viz. M. W. Merrill, and A. H. Cannon; But we feel that this is left entirely with you, and feel most thankful to have any of our brethren visit us at such times.
