Skowhegan . President Woodruff Dear Sir: I am in trouble, double trouble, in regard to my sister's death, and know no one to whom to look for information concerning her and her death. Dear Brethren: At a meeting the other day of our Acadamy Board the advisa- bility of attempting to open the school for another acdemic year was a subject of serious consider- ation owing to our strained financial condition as a Board, and also of our community, more especially refering to St. George and immediate vacinity, where our chief patronage comes from, occasioned by the heavy drain upon our finances the past season for the construction of new dams and ditches, and the fact that the water of the new canal in Washington Field has not yet reached the field, and is a matter of grave doubt as to whether it will in time to reap eaven a crop of lucern this fall.
