To the President of the Church of the latter day Saints.
My dear Sir:
I have to day received from the office of the
Historian of the Latter Day Church, an article on the history of the
church for Baedeker, United States, for which I believe I am indebted
to your courtesy. No letter accompanies the article in question, so
that I am uncertain as to whom I should credit in our book. I should
be much obliged if you would kindly tell me how you should wish it done.
The article seems to me very interesting and satisfactory. I am
also much obliged for the practical corrections or my account of
Salt Lake City and am glad to think that Baedeker's account of so in-
teresting a city and community will be accurate and unprejudices.
