Logan President Woodruff Dear Brother In reply to your letter of inqu- iry, I will say that my situation is such that I cannot leave at the present time. My feelings in regard to the work of the Lord is good. I wish to do my duty and do what I can for the advancement of his work here upon the earth, and that in the future I will be able to take such a mission. Your brother in the gospel, Joseph S. Morgan. Smithfield . Prest. Wilford Woodruff, Dear Brother: There are several persons in Town wishing to borrow the wheat out of the Relief Society Bin, and the Society wants to hold me Responsible for it, and I do not like the Idea of the Being held responsible. I would rather not have anything to do with it, as men when they borrow means from the public institutions as a general thing are very careless about returning it. Some few who borrowed small amounts last year, say now, that they are unable to pay it back, and now want to borrow more, and itf we dont let them have it they are vexed and talk hard things. Bro James Roskelley "Son of Bro Samuel Roskelley," just came to me and wanted to borrow 400 Bushels of the Wheat, and I feel very delicate about loaning it, as he has nothing to give in security for it, and I fdo not feel like letting it go on my own responsibility, unless he had some property to give in security. I would therefore feel pleased if you would kindly drop me a few lines and advise me
