President Willford Woodruff Dear Brother Yours of the 28th received Stating that my name with others had been selected to take a mission to the Southern States as early as Dec 3rd should there be no reasonable obstacle to hinder me. And asking my feelings in regard to same I feel well in being called on a mission to preach the Gospel, but my financial circumstances are of such a nature it would be impossible for me to go at present. S. L. C. President Wilford Woodruff Sir; I received your letter of Oct 28th, notifying me that my name had been proposed, and excepted as A Missionary to the Southern States. I have duly considered it, and am ready to respond to the call; Trusting that through Faith, I will receive that Spirit which will enable me to fulfill an Honorable and useful Mission, Which I will do, to the best of my ability. Thanking you, for considering me Worthy, of fulfilling A Mission in the Interest of the everlasting Gospel, I remain Your Brother in the Gospel. Chas. P. Margetts P.S. Salt Lake City . Pres Wilford Woodruff. Dear Bro— Your letter containing a call to fulfil a mission to the Southern States was duly received. I must confess it was a great surprise to me, but feeling that I ought to respond to such a call and feel ^thankful^ that I am worthy of such a one I will go trusting in the Lord to be my helper.
