Letter from Matilda Phoebe Cochran Killian, 28 November 1892

Dear Brother Woodruff On the 23rd I wrote you a letter and sent in it two dollars and twenty five cents, one dollar for myself and the rest for Martha Jackson, she wishes me to correct her name, she is known in the St George Temple as Martha Oliver (her maiden name, and Sealed to Jacob Hamblin) Jackson was the name of her husband ^now dead^ in the gentile world before she heard the gospel. I hope this will explain all to your understanding satisfactory. that money may flow in untill you have enough and some to spare is the constant prayer of Matilda P. Killian. PS we thought the fund raised in this place for the temple had gone that is why we sent alone M. P. K. Br Campbell has looked carefully through the stubs of his receipt book and cannot find any account of the above having been paid at the Bishop's Store house

Letter from Charles Ora Card, 28 November 1892

Prest. Wilford Woodruff Salt Lake City Utah U. S. Dear Brother Our population here has increased so much we feel it is necessary to build another meetinghouse which now is the course of erection. It will cost about $150000 to Build & seat it and the brethren wish to know if you will allow them to use $30000 in produce tithing and $20000 in labor tithing to aid them in this much needed building. Many of those that came in this year are limited in means and can not render much assistance, besides our crops were light. If you decide to render this aid please Send the Order to Bp. John A. Woolf. All are in good health at present and join me in love and best wishes to you and your colaborers. Your Brother in the Gospel Charles O. Card
