September 07, 1893 ~ Thursday

7 We went to an Oyster House for Breakfast we visited
Mr Pulman who gave us the use of the Pulman Car
Mr Pulman informed us that his Grand Mother
was a Mormon It is reported that Mr Pulman
had made $55000000 Dollars out of the Pulman
Car. He treated us vary kindly At 3 oclock P.M.
we visited Buffalo Bills Wild West Show and
Enjoyed it vary much Mr Alexander Majors
was Here & at the close of the show He took us to
Mr Codys tent, who had a plesant interview
with us and our company was introduced to him
He admitted our party free. There was the finest
shooting by Cody & a woman I Ever saw
He had a whole [herd] of Buffalo on the ground to shoot at

Salt Lake City Dear Father & Mother; I received your welcome letter & deliverd the enclosures to Van & Owen; Am glad you are keeping up in health & enjoying your trip so well. We see by comments in the papers that you are the lion of the day next to Cleveland the most popular man in America. I hope so much praise will not make you self important I should so much have liked to have ben with you at Indipendence; it must have ben a grand experiance to tread that sacred ground, where the Father of the race once lived & where will be erected the masterpiece of mans machinism the temple of temples By this time you will have seen something of the Great White City by the lake; the wonderful buildings & the treasures of Art & manufactures that they contain & view the tangible evidences of the worlds marvelous advancement in the last half century. We are all well at home Van & I went up to Morgan on the Weber River on Labor day fishing but did not have much luck Van caught 17 & I caught 31 all average size Owen & Will Beatie Went out on east Canyon chicken hunting they shot eleven in all. Naomi & Clara took all the children out to the lake on Tuesday & Van & I went out in the evening, we had
