Letter from William Kirkup, 25 October 1893
F. C. PARKINSON, MANAGER. Franklin, Idaho, Prest. Willarford Woodruff and Council Salt Lake City Utah Dear Brethern: Since I wrote you accepting the mission to attend the S. S. Normal class at Provo for 20 weeks I find myself unable to discharge my obligations to my creditors which were all contracted before my call and now I am offered employment by my principleal creditor and it is my feelings and also the feelings of the undersigned Brethern that I aught to discharge my debts before involving my self more, which I must do to fill this mission, I therefore respectfully ask that I may be honorably released for the present and I will try from now to arrange my affairs that I may be able to discharge this or any other duty I may be called upon to do in the future. I love the work and would be delighted to perform it now but for my financial embarassment hoping this may meet your approval
