Ramah, N. M. . President Wilford Woodruff. Dear Brother. It is with regret that I Inform you that I have been unable after trying evry- thing that lay in my power to obtain means wherewith to go on my mission. As soon as I can get the means I would still like to go on the mission I was called upon. I will let you know as soon as I can possibly go. To the First Presidency, Salt Lake City, Utah. Dear Brethren: Your favor of Sept. 30th, appointing me to succeed Elder Geo. E. Browning "in the watchcare & presidency of the Churches comprising the Samoan Mission," was received on the 3rd inst. It is with peculiar feelings that I now attempt to shoulder this great responsibillity.
