Letter from Richard Fry, 6 November 1893

Morgan City, Utah, Prest Wilford Woodruff & Counselors Dear Brethren Yours of 4th came to hand in answer regarding the Reports Concerning Brother Francis Speech in the Political Meeting I was not present but I have made Inquiry of those that was there and they positively deny that the reference spoken of was made or Intended to mean as the other party has Interpreted it Much has been said in these meetings that I think would be better it it had not been said at all, and I believe our Brethren some of them are inclined to mis-construe the word of the opposite party but I am sorry to say this comes from the party that was offended at what the Presidency done without consulting them a little while since I hope this feeling will die out after tomorrow when Election returns comes in I spoke to Bro Francis about this and he said he never Intended to be so understood and if he had taken your advise at conference he would not be in yours very Respecfully Richard Fry
