Salt Lake, . Dear sir! Excuse me if I allow me to take the liberty to take up with the present a few minuts of your valuable time. I am in distress, both of my arms have been paralyzed in consequence of lead poisoning, am unable to do any hard work, have not been capable to obtain any suitable employment, which would enable me to make a living, in spite of my most ernest efforts, and I am forced to ask for help. Therefore I allow me to recommend myself to your kind consideration for assistance. Respectfully Frank Kruger

Rexburg, Idaho, President Wilford Woodruff Salt Lake City. Dear Brother: I am in receipt of a letter from Bp. Inglestrom of Basalt Ward recommending Brother Rasmus M. Larsen as being desirous of going on a mission to Denmark to gather genealogies of his forefathers and he recommends him as worthy to be sent. He is willing to fill a full mission and support himself while there. If you wish him to go on a mission his address is Rasmus M Larsen, Basalt, Idaho Your Brother in the Gospel T E Ricks We do not know his age, nor his strength or ability to fill a mission. He had better go for his genealogies, and we can give him Elder's rates, and if bro. Lund thinks him able to fill a mission, and ^that he^ would be useful as a missionary, he can keep him there J. F. Letter from Ransom Marion Stevens, 26 February 1894

Fagalii, Samoa, . To the First Presidency, Salt Lake City, Utah. Beloved Brethren: Your welcome favor, with draft for $250.00, thankfully received. The six Elders arrived here in safety yesterday. Very pleased to see them, and bid them welcome in our midst. The health of the brethren in this mission is, gener- ally speaking, very good; with the exception of Elder Geo. B. Freeze. He has been ailing for some months past, the disease with which he is afflicted being of a chronic nature. The native food does not seem to agree with him at all, as he cannot eat it without suffering intense pain. Considering these things, I have deemed it wisdom that he should be released to return home by the next steamer. Shall have to borrow money for his return fare, making him responsible for the same. Have been running an account, for necessities for the past two months with one of our Apia friends, who is willing to assist us all he can in that line. Wish it were otherwise, but shall not complain. The cart and harness came as Dead Head freight. Have not put them together yet, but think they will fill the bill. Many thanks for same.
