Letter from Abraham Owen Woodruff, 17 March 1894
Prest. Wilford Woodruff Dearest Father: Your kind letter of the 1st recd. also one from Sister's Blanche, & Clara, & two or three from friend I feel highly honored to have you write me letter on your 87th Birthday & will preserve it as very dear keep sake. Am sorry you are so financ[ial]- ly pressed & hope you will get relief. You shoul[d] not let matters of private nature worry you as they only ammount to a fiew hundred dollars at the most & I am sure our family will be willing to submit to reductions if it will rel- ieve you any. It affords me great pleasure to know ^from^ you that our Bishop is getting better & hop[e] he may rapidly recover. I wrote to Ma & Woodie last evening & hope Ma will not think I was blue for I feel much better today. Have been suffering a little from Rheaumatism in my left arm & shoulder, but pleased to say it is al right now. I contracted it from writing in a room where there was no fire & I got quite cold. You must have had a glorious party Clara gave me an account of it & sent me some cake, which I supppose is very fine & wi[ll] sample it if you will be sure and save me
