Letter from Abraham Owen Woodruff, 18 September 1894

Prest Wilford Woodruff, Salt Lake City, Utah. U. S. America. Dearest Father: Yours of Aug. 28th received and as always was very glad to hear from dear Father, though I must say am sorry you have such a load of business on your hands that you can scarcely live. Well Pa last Sunday just as I was about ready to go to meeting; there came a letter from Prest. Nägle telling me that I was released from the Frankfurt Branch and was app- ointed to go to Dresden and take charge of the Branch there. He also wrote me that Bro. William McEwan was released from Berlin & would be my future Companion in Dresden. During my address last Sunday I made it known that I would soon leave Frankfurt. Some of the members felt real bad but they will have to get over that. They said they would would not let me go but I told them they would prehaps get someone that would do better & that they would like better than me. I hope they will get someone who will try to keep up an interest. At the present time there is a good feeling in the Branch & all are working to establish a good Branch. There are two men here who were baptized by Bro. Schleckmann who have never been present at a meeting since I have been here. With these two exceptions there is not a member but what [page torn] co[mes] to meeting regularly, pay their tithing & are live [page torn] in the [page torn] Viney[ard] of the Lord.
