Dear Brethren,
when Dr Karl
G. Maeser was here some 3 months ago, we
laid before him the necessity of obtaining
a good principal for the Juarez Academy.
Bro D. E. Harris has had charge of said Academy
for several years and has given general satisfaction.
He became however weary of teaching, thinking
that he could do better for himself in other directions.
He was promptly and fully paid and did not
complain on that score, but thought that at
farming and stock—raising he might lay a found-
ation for himself and numerous boys, that
would insure him better returns in the future than
the occupation of teacher.
Bro Maeser thought that you would not be
averse to giving same and a mission to come
here for that purpose. We do not expect a
man, who because of his past success and long
