Council Bluffs, Iowa, To Presidents Woodruff, Cannon & Smith, Salt Lake City, Utah Dear Brethren, Our conference at Independence Jacksen Co. Mo, which closed on the evening of the 15th of the present month, passed off quietly, the attendance of strangers was not very large, the elders were all greatly blessed of the Lord, for all who spoke did so with freedom and force and confined themselves to the first principles of the gospel. we give the people to understand that our mission among them was one of peace, and I believe the result of our Conference on that historic spot will result in great good and that it will be far reaching in its effects. The News Papers of this city were very fair in what they said of us. of course there was a number of errors but not of sufficient importance for us to correct through the press here.
