Mission - Missionary Certificate for Leonidas Hamlin Kennard, 2 July 1896
in behalf of said Church. Wilford Woodruff Geo. Q. Cannon Jos. F. Smith First Presidency.
Letter from Thomas Edwin Ricks and William Frederick Rigby, 24 July 1896
Rexburg, Idaho, Pres. Wilford Woodruff, Dear Bro:— We feel a decided delicacy in addressing you the following communication but trust however you will take no exceptions in our presenting our situation to you realizing you will understand it in the spirit and meaning thereof. We do not desire to suggest anything that would be in any way inconsistent or that would not be heartily in accord with your feelings, but with the depression in business circles generally that has been, and still is, so severe, our source of maintenance is practically shut off, and we find it a very difficult matter indeed to meet our just obligations, so that if you in your good judgment think the demands upon the Church are not so heavy but that it could favor us with the same apportionment as allowed prior to our April Conference we would feel very grateful.
