16 I spent the Day in the office The Mining Company
held ^a meeting^ The Utah Company Dissolved to day had
a part of the property taken from it we are called upon
to pay the body of our debts

Lorenzo Snow wife the Houts woman is Dead & buried
Alice our youngest Daughter is vary sick

Salt Lake City, Utah, . Rev. Wilford Woodruff, George Q. Cannon, and Joseph F. Smith. Gentlemen: Your letter of the 13th inst. in which you unite in a request that Mr. John C. Cutler, or Mr. John Clark be app- ointed to fill one of the vacancies now existing on the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners, is before me. Your request is a reasonable one, and evinces the keen and entirely proper interest you take in matters of common public concern.
