I take pleasure
in once more reporting the conditions of
affairs in the Indian Territory mission.
There has been thirteen baptisms this
season, and a propo[r]ti[o]nate number of children
blessed. The Elders have labored well
up to the hot season, when acording to
council they have taken it somewhat
easier, Elder James F. Smith now in
charge has been down with the chills
and fever for over three weeks. It seems
to be the ordeal they all have to pass
through, so we cannot think of giving
up. He may linger for some time
but not seriously until cool weather,
possibly when he will be all right
and able to do a good labor this fall
and winter, which is the best time
to labor in that clime.
