Nov 30, 1873
Sunday I received 2 letters from Phebe & Sarah
I met with my Prayer Circle at noon & in the Evening
I preached in the afternoon at the 13 ward to a full House
was followed By Brigham Y[ou]ng Jr

Dec 1, 1873 This is the first day of winter & we had a cold
snow storm I started for Grantsville with Brower Pettit
& Philip Lord we went to the point of the Mountain
Brother Pettit shot 8 ducks we spent the night
at Sister Keslers who was vary kind to us 15 Miles
~ Tuesday
2nd Brother Pettit killed some 30 ducks & one goose. I
killed one duck & onetwo Geese we spent the night at Black
Rock 12 Miles
~ Wednesday
3rd Brother Brower killed some 20 ducks & we drove to Grants-
ville & spent the night at Arouiet Hales 20 M[iles]
~ Thursday
4. We drove to Fish springs & camped for the night
~ Friday
5 I spent the day in shooting Ducks I got 8 & Pettit some 20
~ Saturday
