Special CONFERENCE
Held in Nauvoo April 6^th 1842

It being rainy the fore part of the day
conference did not meet untill 1 oclock PM
President Hyram Smith occupied the time
mostly through the day giveing instruction to
the Church

April 7, 1842 ~ Thursday

7^th rainy in the fore part of the day conference
opened at 1 oclock president J. Smith H. Smith
W^m Law & the Twelve took the stand
& opened meeting & spoke upon a variety
of subjects & called upon those who wished
to be ordained to the office of an Elder to come
forward & have their names taken many
came forward

April 8, 1842 ~ Friday

8^th Sun roes plesent & conference opened at
10 oclock. Elder L. Wight Presidents J Smith
& Hyaram Smith & others spoke then those
that were to be ordained Elders were req-
uested to remove from the rest of the congre-
gation by themselves they did so & six
of the Twelve viz B. Young H. C. Kimball, O.
Pratt, L. Wight, W. Richards G A Smith &
myself went forward & inordained 275
two hundred & seventy five to the office of
Elders
